EW's Must-See Movies of 2009

Each year, Entertainment Weekly publishes its list of "The 25 Movies You Need To See Before Oscar Night," and for the last several years, I've treated that list like a target of 25 personal goals to reach, to better inform my own play-along Academy Awards ballot guesses. So, in advance of the announcement of this year's nominees (5:00 AM, Pacific Time, Tuesday, February 2, 2010) and in preparation of the predictions and analyses that I will likely post here, this year's list is reprinted below [from Entertainment Weekly, January 8, 2010]:
